The Islamic Art Revival Series (IARS) brings awareness and exposure of Islamic Art and builds cultural bridges between the Islamic world and North America. IARS is hosting a series of Islamic Art events that promotes education on the arts of the Islamic world and encourages vibrant cross-cultural exchange amongst all faiths and cultures.
On September 22, 2012, IARS hosted the IARS Experience, where more than 1,300 attendees enjoyed a full day of multi-sensory experiences in the visual and performing Islamic Arts at the Eisemann Center in Richardson, Texas. The event included an art fair featuring U.S. artists and photographers, lectures and panel discussions on Islamic art and architecture, singing, music, storytelling, drumming, a fashion show, poetry performances, films - including In the Shade of the Tree featuring photography by world-renowned Peter Sanders, calligraphy and henna artist demonstrations, interactive and hands-on geometric tessellation activities, and opportunities to be photographed in ethnic costumes - all focused on the unique contributions Islamic Art and Architecture have made to civilization. IARS will host the second annual IARS Experience in September 2013 at the Eisemann Center in Richardson, Texas, God willing.
